Correction to e-mail - NECOS General Meeting Thursday at 5 pm, Jarvis 338
ASX Trip - Hotel Scheduled (Approx. $20-$25 per person)
Project Group Updates Educational Outreach - Buffalo Museum of Science - hopefully twice a month - Saturdays or Sundays - Local School Visits - Contact with someone in Kenmore - Went to P.S. 80 last year - BMS event on Saturday, Feb 6th - 11 am to 3 or 4 pm
Rocketry - tentative meeting time - Monday 6 pm (After General Meeting) Astronomy - Event last Friday afternoon - Approx 30 people in attendance - Solar Filter used to view Sunspots - Mercury and Venus also were visible - need $15 for the Buffalo Astronomical Association membership
Botwars - By the end of the week - In Machine Shop (Build frame of Bot) - Meeting time: Tuesdays at 6 pm
NECOS - Meeting Thursday from 5-6:30 - Need to plan more for the event - Speakers already set (list on ubseds.org) SEDS Week - next week (potentially 2 weeks) - need volunteers - next Monday - Open House - food at General Meeting - Friday and Monday - UBSEDS Table in the Student Union

Hello everyone,
This is a brand new year and the Astronomy Project Group would like to start it off right. So far, we have done so, with the purchase of our new telescope, a Celestron NGT-10 and a CCD imaging camera for astrophotography... with a set of color filters. Our thanks goes to the Student Association, the New and Innovative Grant Committee and the Sub-Board Grant Committee for looking over our proposals and giving us the resources for purchasing our new equipment. We would also like to thank our club officers for helping us put together the proposals.
In additional news, we are constantly watching the weather for a clear night to test our new equipment and we will be sending an e-mail or text message about the location and time of the meeting. If you would like to be on the list-serve, send an e-mail to

Project Group Updates - Rocketry/Propulsion - Final Meeting of the Semester was held earlier today (12/9) - Starting Next Semester - Bigger and Faster, Certification Rockets - Botwars - Meeting Tomorrow (12/9) - Jarvis 338, 3:30-5 pm - K'nex Bot Model is functional - Astronomy - Waiting on Telescope - Solar Filter recently purchased - Salman and Dave met with ESw - Potential Viewing Observatory (with sliding roof, possibly computer actuated remotely) - Educational Outreach - Event held last Sunday (12/6) - Main Atrium in Buffalo Museum of Science (BMS) - Alot of large groups of kids were in attendance - 3 UBSEDS members instructed Presentation of Europa Exploration - As presented by Carl Javier - Project for EE 441 (Space Exploration Topics) |
